Chugach plans two short outages for Cooper Landing and Moose Pass

Chugach Electric Association has scheduled a pair of outages for customers in Cooper Landing and Moose Pass. Each outage is expected to be approximately 15 minutes long. The first outage is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18. The second outage is expected to take place about 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.

The outages are necessary to switch customers from the Daves Creek Substation to the Lawing Substation while crews perform transformer maintenance at the Daves Creek Substation. The second outage of about the same duration will be necessary in order to transfer the customers from the Lawing Substation back to the normal source at the Daves Creek Substation.

Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
