Chugach Electric Association kids calendar available
For the sixth year in a row, the Chugach kids safety poster contest was a great success. The
winners for the 2009 calendar have been selected. Winning posters have been chosen for the front
and back covers and for each month inside of the calendar. This year's contest theme focused on
ways to be safe around electricity. Twenty-three children in three different age categories
competed for cash prizes ranging from $25 to $100.
The judges for this year's contest were Dave LeClair, CFO for Carr-Gottstein Properties, Jackie
Purcell, meteorologist from KTUU, and Melinda Taylor, Communications Director with the International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1547.
The contest is open to the children of Chugach's employees and immediate family members. To receive
a copy of the 2009 safety calendar, call 762-4736, or drop by Chugach's lobby at 5601 Electron Drive.
Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the
Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
