Chugach Electric Association’s Board of Directors has received the resignation of Director Sisi Cooper and is taking applications to fill the seat.

Cooper, whose resignation was received on June 20, is resigning from the board as she no longer satisfies the residency requirements contained in Chugach’s Bylaws. As a result, Chugach will have a vacancy on its seven-member board. Applications are being accepted until noon, July 10, 2018.

Cooper was first elected to the board in 2012 and re-elected in 2015. She most recently served as the treasurer.

“We thank Sisi for her service to Chugach and its members,” said Board Chair Bettina Chastain. “Her insight and expertise in financing and engineering have made her a very valuable director. We wish her well in the future.”

Chugach members who are interested in the position and believe they meet the qualifications must submit a letter of intent, an application form, an attestment of candidate qualifications form, and a resume by noon July 10.

The board will interview and appoint a Chugach member who meets the qualifications as specified in the bylaws, Article IV, Section 3. The appointee will serve until the seat is filled in the May 2019 election.
