Chugach customers will pay less for fuel on their monthly electric bills during the first quarter of 2010 than they did in the fourth quarter of 2009. Both wholesale and retail customers will see lower fuel costs as new quarterly prices go into effect in January.

Chugach Electric Association is donating nearly 6,000 pounds of turkey to local charitable organizations, including Bean's Café, the Food Bank of Alaska, Covenant House, Salvation Army, Mother Lawrence Foundation and Hope Community Resources. This is the eighth year Chugach has donated turkeys to local charitable organizations.

Thousands of past and long-term Chugach Electric members are receiving a share of a nearly $1.7 million retail capital credits retirement. The Chugach board of directors approved the retirement at its Nov. 19 meeting.
