Chugach wins communication awards

Chugach Electric Association received three Excellence in Communications awards from the Northwest Public Power Association. The awards were presented at the association's Northwest Innovations Conference in September.

Chugach received a first place award for a photo of a structure relocation project at Dynamite Slough on the Susitna River, a second place award for its employee's kids safety calendar and a third place for its Web site.

NWPPA is an international association representing and serving customer-owned, locally controlled utilities in the Western United States and Canada. The Excellence in Communication contest is in its 14th year and is the second largest of its kind in the nation, recognizing top communication efforts from member utilities from 11 western states and two Canadian provinces. This year 41 organizations submitted nearly 150 entries.

Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
