Chugach Electric donates turkeys

Chugach Electric Association is donating thousands of pounds of turkey to local organizations this month, including Bean's Café, the Food Bank of Alaska, Mabel T. Caverly Center and the Homeless Veterans Services.

The donation is to help fill a need in the community for turkeys for holiday meals and gift baskets that will be distributed throughout the local area.

Chugach Electric Courier Jerry Helton picked up the turkeys Chugach purchased, loaded them into a truck and distributed the 400 turkeys Dec. 19 and 20.

Chugach is the largest electric utility in Alaska, providing power for Alaskans throughout the Railbelt through retail, wholesale and economy energy sales.
